
PaddleHeads Cruise Past Hawks Winning Third Straight

Missoula, MT. - The Missoula PaddleHeads offense was held mostly in check during the early going in game one of a three game series opposite the Boise Hawks. Missoula's attack began to find its footing the middle innings however tying the game at 2 in the fifth. The PaddleHeads would then blow the game open in the sixth behind a six-run barrage in a 9-2 victory.
After falling into a 2-0 hole in the early innings, Missoula would outscore Boise 9-0 the rest of the way on there way to a victory. The PaddleHeads would bring 12 batters to the plate during the sixth inning to break the game open. Dean Nevarez would hit his second home run of the game to highlight the inning. The California native would finish the game 2-for-4 with 3 driven-in.
Starting pitcher Matt Mogollon delivered a solid outing in his second start of the season keeping Missoula in the game early before the offense kicked into gear. The Cal Baptist product allowed just one earned run over 5 2/3 innings pitched while striking out 6. The bullpen combination of Rabon Martin, and Dazon Cole was also solid down the stretch as the pair allowed just one hit and no runs over 3 1/3 innings.
Missoula (24-10) kept pace with the Idaho Falls Chukars (24-10) with the victory on Wednesday evening as the race for the first half pennant stayed tied. The PaddleHeads plan to send Mason Schwellenbach to the mound for game 2 opposite the Hawks (14-20) on Thursday night as Missoula will be in search of their fourth consecutive win.
