Green Bay Blizzard News Release

The Manchester Wolves took charge of the game from the very frst snap when QB James Pinkney connected with WR Steven Savoy for a 45 yard touchdown pass before a stunned Green Bay crowd had even settled in their seats. Just 10 minutes later the Wolves increased their lead to 15 after Pinkney rushed for a 2 yard TD.

Before the end of the frst half the Blizzard responded with three scores to take a 20-18 lead. Momentum shifted to Green Bay after a fumble recovery and 42 yard touchdown return by WR/LB Robert Garth (4 tackles, 1 fumble recovery and 1 TD).

Manchester reclaimed the momentum in the second half with four straight scores, taking a lead of 46-20. The Blizzard continued to battle when QB Mark Nicolet (5 of 8 for 45 yards and 1 TD) completed a 7 yard touch- down pass to WR Nate Forse (10 Rec. for 112 yards and 1 TD). Nicolet stepped in to replace starting QB Gino Guidugli who fnished the game 17 of 36 for 166 yards, 3 INTs and 1 TD. Nicolet's effort was the last threat from the Blizzard as the Wolves capped the night with a 13 yard touchdown pass by Pinkney (25 of 32 for 306 yards, and 4TDs) which gave Manchester a 53 to 28 win.

Friday was the frst of four Budweiser Buck Nights, and Green Bay fans showed their support with an outstand- ing attendance of 7,231. The Blizzard are on the road for the frst time this season next Saturday against the Quad City Steamwheelers and will return to the Resch Center on April 24th against the Arkansas Twister. The University of Wisconsin Marching Band will be on hand to entertain the crowd with their legendary halftime and 5th quarter performances.
