MYRTLE BEACH, SC- Tyler Moore broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh inning of the nightcap in Myrtle Beach with his 21st home run to lead the Potomac Nationals to a split of their Saturday doubleheader at BB&T Coastal Field.

The Nationals had clawed back to tie the second game with two runs in the sixth inning; Jose Lozada and Sean Rooney led off the frame with singles and Lozada scored on Chris Curran's bloop single to right. Rooney crossed home plate on a wild pitch, but the Pelicans worked out of a jam and kept the game knotted at three.

Myrtle had their chance to take a lead in the bottom of the sixth. Luis Sumoza doubled and Braeden Schlehuber singled to put two in scoring position. But Joe Testa struck out a pair and got a popout to send the game to the seventh tied.

Moore did the rest. He is now 4-for-8 in the series with three home runs and six RBIs, and 6-for-11 with four homers and nine RBIs on the road trip.

Potomac had jumped out to a lead in the first inning of game two. Steve Lombardozzi doubled to lead off the inning and scored on Moore's sacrifice fly. On the night he pushed his league leading total to 82 RBIs.

The opening game, delayed 30 minutes by rain, got off to a sour start for spot starter Jason Jones. A throwing error by Francisco Soriano allowed the leadoff man Mycal Jones to reach. He and two other Pelicans would score on four hits and Myrtle led 3-0.

Bill Rhinehart did the only offensive damage for Potomac with his 11th home run to lead off the fifth and make it 3-1.

But Myrtle put the game away with a run in the fifth and two in the sixth off Carlos Martinez.

Potomac will look to win its second straight series Sunday evening in Myrtle. Jimmy Barthmaier takes the hill against southpaw Brett Oberholtzer. First pitch is set for 6:05 P.M., and the broadcast can be heard beginning at 5:50.
