P-Nats Family Funday Sunday Gets a Tuneup

WOODBRIDGE, Va- The Potomac Nationals are excited to announce a very special occurence taking place before their Sunday, April 19 afternoon game with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Making a special appearance outside Pfitzner Stadium will be NASCAR star Carl Edwards' number 60 Scott's Miracle-Gro car as part of a promotion sponsored by Scotts.

Scotts will be holding games and contests outside the gates before the first pitch for all fans. The appearance by the Nationwide Series car will be but one of many fantastic events happening Sunday at Pfitzner Stadium as the P-Nats will be hosting their first Family Funday Sunday of the season! As it will be for every Sunday home game, Nationals' players will be out on the concourse signing autographs in the Cafe for approximately 30 minutes before the game in anticipation of taking the field to defend their 2008 Carolina League Championship. Game time is 1:05 ET.

After the game, all kids in attendance are invited down onto the field to run the bases courtesy of Glory Days Grill. While the kids are running the bases, any fan who brought a glove to the ballpark can come down onto the outfield and play a game of catch on a professional baseball field as part of our "Family Toss" promotion.

Be sure to make it out to Opening Day at Pfitzner Stadium Friday, April 17 as the P-Nats take on the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in a rematch of their 2008 Mills Cup championship duel. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive replica championship rings brought to you by News and Messenger as part of the Nationals' first Freebie Friday promotion. The first pitch is slated for 7:05 ET.
