THE HILLCATS: The Hillcats earned their first walk-off win of the season with a 9-6 victory over the Winston-Salem Dash last night...The win gave the Hillcats back-to-back series victories to start the season...After an 6-2 homestand to start the season Lynchburg plays their first road game of the season tonight...This is game one of a brief three-game road trip...11 of the first 14 games of the year for Lynchburg are at Calvin Falwell Field...

VS. WILMINGTON: Last season the Blue Rocks won the series 11-9...INF Jim Negrych batted .426 (29-for-68) against Wilmington last year as part of his .370 campaign with the Hillcats...

UP ON THE STAGE: 3B Pedro Alvarez ended last night's game with a three-run walk-off home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning at City Stadium...Despite an 0-18 stretch, Alvarez knocked in 14 runs during the eight game homestand...He began that stretch with a four RBI game in the series opener and ended it with a six RBI performance last night...

COMEBACK CATS: Last night was Lynchburg's fourth come from behind victory out of six wins thus far this season...They fell down 1-0 two pitches into the contest a night ago and were down two after the top of the first...

FITTING THE PROTOTYPE: INF Jose De Los Santos is doing all of the things you hope for out of a lead-off hitter...In eight games he has gotten on base 17 times, scored 12 runs and stolen five bases...His 12 runs lead the Carolina League and his five steals are both tied for the best in the CL...The last eight times De Los Santos has gotten on base he has scored, including three times last night and six times in the last two games...

KNACK FOR THE BIG HIT: SS Jordy Mercer had the game winning hit on Tuesday and Wednesday night and had a go-ahead RBI single in the win last night...On Tuesday his RBI single gave the Hillcats a 3-2 lead they would not relinquish...Wednesday he blasted a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to put Lynchburg up for good...Last night his RBI single put the Green & Gold in front 3-2 in the third inning...

BUMP IN THE ROAD: After his first two innings of work last night, RHP Dustin Molleken had tossed seven scoreless innings and only allowed one hit on the year...In the eighth inning though he allowed four runs on six hits and took the Hillcats first blown save of the season...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Mario Santiago was selected in the 16th round selection in the 2005 draft by the Royals...He spent all of last season with the Blue Rocks and went 8-8 with a 3.43 ERA in 27 starts...This season he has gone 0-1 with a 15.00 ERA...
