
P-Bruins Fall to Wolf Pack 4-1

Hartford, CT - The Providence Bruins fell to the Hartford Wolf Pack 4-1 Wednesday evening at The Hartford Civic Center. The P-Bruins got their lone goal from Kris Versteeg.
In the opening period, the Wolf Pack scored the lone goal at the 10:49 mark. Hartford had two men uncovered just outside the crease. Brandon Dubinsky fed the puck to Ryan Callahan and he sent it into the P-Bruins net. Dane Byers tallied the lone assist as Hartford took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
In the second period, the P-Bruins tied the game at one during a 4 on 4. At the 15:45 mark David Krejci sent a cross-ice pass to Versteeg, who was waiting on the far side of the crease. With Hartford goaltender Al Montoya leaning towards the near post, Versteeg tipped the puck into the net and sent the game into the second intermission tied at one. Bobby Allen recorded the second assist.
In the third period the Wolf Pack did all the scoring on their way to a victory. Hartford scored the go ahead goal while on the power play at the 15:27 mark. David Liffiton took a shot from the left point and Dane Byers redirected the puck into the P-Bruins net. Marvin Degon had the second assist. Hartford added two insurance goals. Nigel Dawes scored an even strength goal at the 17:04 mark with Brad Isbister and Dwight Helminen picking up the assists and Isbister scored an empty net goal with 43 seconds left in the game from Helminen and Martin Richter.
Hannu Toivonen stopped 27 of 30 shots he face for the P-Bruins, while Montoya made 28 saves for the Wolf Pack. Providence was 0 for 4 on the power play, while Hartford went 1 for 2 on the man-advantage.
The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center for Family Weekend Friday, January 5 against the Worcester Sharks at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, January 7 versus the Springfield Falcons at 4:05 p.m. Fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for only $44.
