PROVIDENCE, R. I. -The Providence Bruins fell to the Springfield Falcons tonight for the second time in their back-to-back matchups this weekend.

Things looked promising for the P-Bruins when they got out to an early lead. Just 3:58 into the game, Jordan Caron flipped one past Springfield goaltender Oscar Dansk. The goal, assisted by Chris Casto and Craig Cunningham, put the P-Bruins on top 1-0. Then just 13 seconds later, at 4:11, the P-Bruins scored again. Matt Lindblad found the back of the net with assists from Tyler Randell and Zach Trotman. After the two early goals, Springfield pulled their goaltender Dansk, and replaced him with Anton Forsberg. The goalie change seemed to help the Falcons turn their momentum around and with 8:58 left in the first period, Austin Madaisky put Springfield on the board. Ryan Craig and Sean Collins were credited with the assists. The teams headed into the locker room with the score 2-1.

In the second period, the Falcons wasted no time tying things up. Just one minute in, Sean Collins got the puck past Providence goaltender Jeremy Smith. The goal, assisted by Ryan Craig and Jaime Sifers made it 2-2. The Falcons were quick to score again and at 2:14 Marko Dano notched his first goal of the season to put Springfield on top for the first time of the night. The Falcons weren't done with scoring in the second period. With 7:53 left to play, Austin Madaisky lit the lamp for Springfield once again. Madaisky's second goal of the night was assisted by T.J. Florek's goal was assisted by Ryan Spooner and Craig Cunningham.

After a second period full of scoring, things slowed down in the third until 10:46 when the Falcons found the back of the net once again. Corey Cowick, with assists from Nathan Oystrick and Thomas Larkin, added another for Springfield and made the score 5-3. But the P-Bruins didn't give up the fight and with 5:08 left in the game Matt Lindblad notched his second goal of the night to bring Providence back within one.
