Prince George, BC - Drew Owsley made 37 saves to back stop the Prince George Cougars to a 3-1 win over the visiting Calgary Hitmen Wednesday night at CN Centre.

Troy Bourke, John Odgers and Austin Daae all scored for Prince George who built period leads of 1-0 and 2-1.

Cody Sylvester, with his 14th goal of the season, scored the lone Calgary marker as the Hitmen opened a five road trip through the BC Division.

Calgary's top pick, and the number one overall selection in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft, Jake Virtanen made his regular season debut. The 15-year-old was summoned from the Fraser Valley Bruins where he leads the BC Major Midget team in scoring with 33 points in 24 games.

Calgary, 17-16-2-1 on the season, will return to action Friday night in Kamloops against the BC Division leading Blazers.
