Northern Colorado Owlz News Release
GRAND JUNCTION- The Orem Owlz were looking for a spark after falling to the Ogden Raptors last night at home. The Owlz started their two game series in Grand Junction to take on the Rockies who were looking for the same type of spark as they sit in fourth place in the division. On Thursday night, the Owlz found that spark they were looking for as Kenny Towns, Sam Koenig and Alex Abbott all hammered a shot over the wall to help the Owlz defeat the Rockies 6-3.
The night started out with the starting pitcher for Orem Jose Rodriguez on the mound, who pitched six scoreless innings and won his third game of the season as he struck out six batters on the night. Jared Foster had a great night at the plate as he hit the ball well with three hits and two RBI's back in the first and third inning of play that put the Owlz on top 2-0.
Brendon Sanger was one of three batters on the night two have a two hit game in the victory as the Owlz did their job in Game 1 in Grand Junction to hopefully get back on the winning track as they will look for back to back wins tomorrow night.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 MDT and you listen to the action live on Audio.OremOwlz.com.
