Owlz Lose Series in 8-5 Loss at Home

OREM- After coming up just short the night before, the Owlz looked to avoid their series loss at home in the final game of the series against the Helena Brewers. Unfortunately the Brewers out-powered the Owlz with 16 hits in the game, scoring 8 runs to defeat the Owlz 8-5.
The night started off shaky for the Owlz starting pitcher Joe Gatto who saw a home run in the first two innings of play. Gatto settled down though finishing the game going five innings, giving up nine hits, and three earned runs.
After two innings of scoreless offense by the Owlz their luck turned around in the bottom of the third inning as Tanner Lubach singled on a ground ball to center field which scored Michael Pierson. Then, David Fletcher hit a double on a fly ball to center field to send home Lubach and Kyle Survance Jr. to take the first lead of the night. But, the lead didn't hold up for long. The Brewers scored another run to open the fourth inning to even the score up at 3. After scoring the tying run the Brewers never looked back.
The top of sixth inning of play is where the Brewers took command of the game where they saw 5 runners cross home plate to capture their eighth run of the night to give them back to back wins in Orem.
Next up for the Owlz they will hit the road for one of their longest road trips of the year as they will make a trip to Montana with stops in Billings and Helena. First game will be on Wednesday in Billings with first pitch at 7:05 P.M.
