"Everyone who watched last Saturday's match knows there is a real rivalry building with LAFC and the support we receive at BC Place matters. Whitecaps FC enter the playoffs after finishing in sixth place in the Western Conference with 48 points and a regular season record of 12W-10L-12D, while LAFC finished in third with 52 points and a record of 14W-10L-10D.
The 'Caps have already faced LAFC four times this year, including a 1-1 draw in the final match of the season at BC Place in front of a crowd of 25,146 - the largest attendance since the club's 2019 MLS season opener, and the ninth largest of the MLS era. With that draw, Vancouver took the regular season series, which included a 3-2 win in Los Angeles on June 24. In Concacaf Champions League play, LAFC advanced past the 'Caps over two legs in the quarterfinal round.
Vancouver's all-time record against LAFC includes five wins, six defeats and four draws. This will be the first time that Whitecaps FC and LAFC meet in the MLS Cup Playoffs.
The winner of this series will play the winner of second place Seattle Sounders FC and seventh place FC Dallas in the Western Conference Semifinals, following the FIFA international window, on November 25 or 26. The MLS Cup Playoffs Conference Finals will take place on December 2 or 3 and MLS Cup on December 9.
