Outfielder Bautista Added to Iowa's Roster

DES MOINES - The Iowa Cubs added 22-year-old outfielder Alex Bautista to their roster from Short-Season Eugene today, filling the roster spot of infielder Arismendy Alcantara, who was traded to the A's for utility man Chris Coghlan Thursday.

Bautista was drafted by the Cubs in the 22nd round of the 2015 draft out of Lindsey Wilson College. Last year, Bautista split time between Mesa and Short-Season Eugene in his first professional season. He finished the year hitting .255 between the two levels with seven doubles, two triples, three homers and 21 RBI.

Alcantara broke the Iowa franchise record for triples this season and was leading the Pacific Coast League with 21 stolen bases at the time of the trade. He hit .264 for the I-Cubs with nine doubles, three triples, five homers and 21 RBI.
