Salt Lake Bees News Release

Ji-Man Choi delivered a two run single in the top of the tenth inning to give the Salt Lake Bees a 12-10 win over the Fresno Grizzlies on Thursday night. With one out in the tenth, Todd Cunningham walked and stole second base. One out later, Kaleb Cowart drew a base on balls and with both runners going on a 3-2 pitch, Choi drilled a one-hopper off of the right field wall to bring home the go ahead runs. Al Alburquerque struck out all three batters he faced in the bottom of the tenth to record his seventh save. Salt Lake jumped out to a 10-2 lead, only to have the Grizzlies score two in the fifth, three in the sixth and three more in the seventh to tie the game at 10-10.

Geoff Broussard (1-0) worked a scoreless ninth inning to earn his first career win at the Triple-A level. Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons began an injury rehab assignment with the Bees and had three hits and drove in five runs as the designated hitter. Choi led Salt Lake with four hits and two RBI, while Kyle Kubitza and Erik Kratz each chipped in with two hits and two runs batted in. Salt Lake won despite making a season high four errors and have now committed seven errors in their last two games.
