December 7, 2018 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Erie Otters News Release
ERIE, PA - The Erie Otters returned home on Saturday night to take on the Flint Firebirds for the second straight game, after beating them in overtime in Flint last week. The Firebirds broke the ice early with a goal on the game's first powerplay opportunity with a goal from defensemen Riley McCourt. The Otters answered only minutes later with a Gera Poddubnyi powerplay goal of their own to level the game out at one heading into the intermission.
The second period continued the even pace set by the first. After many minutes of back and forth hockey, the Otters broke through with a goal from Danial Singer to elevate them ahead 2-1 after two periods of play.
In the final period, the Otters added another goal from Brendan Hoffman to extend the lead to two. The Firebirds gave it everything they had until Chad Yetman threw the puck the length of the ice into the empty net to win the game for the Otters 4-1.
The Otters will play at Erie Insurance Arena again tomorrow night when they take on the Saginaw Spirit at 7:00PM.
