
Otters win game two

Ben Foster pitched 7.1 innings of brilliant baseball and Terrence McClain hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning as the Evansville Otters defeated the Washington Wild Things 3-2.
The Wild Things got on the board first in the top of the second inning. Leading off the fourth, Steve Martin walked. The Otters still did not have a hit in the contest when McClain ripped the first pitch off of B. J. Borsa (0-2) deep over the left-centerfield fence to give Evansville a 2-1 lead.
Washington would tie the game in the top of the sixth on an RBI single by Lance Koenig. The Otters would take the lead for good in the bottom half of the inning. Martin walked to lead off the inning again and stole second. Two batters later, Trask Munoz lined a single into right, scoring Martin, putting Evansville up 3-2.
From there the pitching took over. Foster (1-1, was superb, striking out a career high 10, walking two and allowing two runs in his 7.1 innings. Anthony Del Prete came in with one out in the eighth and finished out the game for his first save.
The two teams will wrap up the series tomorrow night as Robby Read (1-0) takes the mound for Evansville against Ryan Douglass (2-0) for Washington. Monday is Otter Pup Gang night. Any member of the Otter Pup Gang who comes to the ballpark with their yellow Pup Gang t-shirt will receive free admission.
