Rob Ellis, making his first start of the year, went 6 2/3 innings for the Grizzlies Sunday night in a 7-3 win over the Mid-Missouri Mavericks in Columbia, MO. The Grizzlies improve to 5-6. Mid-Missouri is 0-10.
Ellis (1-0) gave up three runs on five hits and struck out three. Ryan Hamilton followed with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless, hitless relief. He struck out three.
Mike Breyman and Nick Bohnenstiehl each had a pair of RBIs for the Grizzlies. Breyman was 2-5 with a two-run home run. Bohnenstiehl was 1-5. Todd Oetting was 2-4 with an RBI. Ryan Sullivan was 2-4.
The Grizzlies and Mavericks complete the three-game series with a 7:05 game Monday night in Columbia. Game time is 7:05.
