Otters Seek Series Win at Slammers on Sunday

(JOLIET, ILLINOIS) - The Evansville Otters (25-17) finish a three game series on the road at the Joliet Slammers (17-25) on Sunday afternoon.

First pitch is set for 1:05 pm CDT at Silver Cross Field in Joliet, Illinois.

Fans not going to the game can listen live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski and color commentator Bill McKeon will have the call beginning at 12:45 pm CDT.

The Otters won the series opener 5-4 in 11 innings on Friday night. Outfielder Chris Elder had three hits and a go-ahead home run in the 11th inning for the win. The final score was also 5-4 on Saturday but Joliet won that middle contest of the series. Evansville hit three home runs in the defeat.

Evansville is 11-9 all time against the Joliet Slammers.

The Otters seek their first road series win since June 18 (at Traverse City).

Outfielder J.R. Higley is on a seven game hitting streak.

Evansville will have the left-hander and Rockport native Blake Monar (0-0, 162.00 ERA) on the mound against Joliet lefty Blair Walters (1-3, 2.51).

With a win and a Washington loss, the Otters would move one game of the Wild Things for first place in the Frontier League East Division.
