
Otters offense sputters again

Evansville Otters News Release
Brendon Davis pitched six strong innings, striking out eight, holding the Evansville Otters to one run as the Washington Wild Things beat the Otters 6-3.
The Wild Things picked up pairs of runs in the second, fourth, and sixth innings. It was the 4-5-6 hitters for Washington who did the damage against Otters pitching. The combination of Pat O'Brien, Lance Koenig, and David Reaver went a combined 7-for-12 with three RBIs and scoring all six Wild Things runs.
The Otters were able to plate a single run in the first inning on a groundout by Cole Hilt, scoring Denver Stuckey. The Otters got their second run of the game on a single by Ricky Clinton, pushing home Trask Munoz. Evansville got their third run on a sac fly in the ninth by Brian McKenna.
Davis (1-1) picked up the win. Jim Popp got out of a bases loaded situation in the nintyh to pick up his second save. Chris Pillsbury (0-2) took the loss for Evansville. Pillsbury went 5.1 innings allowing 10 hits and six runs.
The series continues tomorrow with Ben Foster (0-1) taking the mound for Evansville against B. J Borsa (0-1) will go for Washington.
