
Grizzlies take ten to beat Mavericks

Todd Oetting was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in the game-winning run as the Grizzlies beat the Mid-Missouri Mavericks 8-7 Saturday night at GMC Stadium. The Grizzlies improve to 4-6 on the year. The Mavericks drop to 0-9.
David Smith (1-0) got the win in relief for the Grizzlies. Smith went 3 1/3 innings. He allowed a run on three hits. He struck out two. Matt Powell started and went five innings allowing four runs on nine hits. He left with the Grizzlies leading 5-4.
Freddy Lopez was 2-5 with three RBIs, including a home run that cleared the second wall in right field. Bo Jenkins was 2-4 with two RBIs.
The Grizzlies and the Mavericks continue the series with two games in Columbia, MO. Sunday's game time is 6:05 p.m. at Taylor Stadium-at the University of Missouri.
