Evansville Otters News Release

EVANSVILLE, IN – Leading just 1-0 heading into the Richmond Roosters exploded for six runs defeating the Evansville Otters 7-0.

The Roosters got the first run of the game in the top of the first inning when, with the bases loaded, Otters' starter Justin Garcia threw a wild pitch. Garcia allowed two hits in the inning, before settling down, not allowing a single base knock the rest of the way.

The Otters managed eight hits in the game, but only one of them for extra bases as Bo Moore and three relievers held Evansville scoreless. The loss spoiled a good game by Garcia, who went eight innings, allowing just the two hits, three runs, walking five and striking out 13. The outing was his second double-digit strikeout performance of the year.

The Otters send Grant Williams to the mound tomorrow in game two of the series against Tony Casoli for Richmond.
