Otters Lose in Owen Sound

Owen Sound, Ont. - A hat trick by Artur Gavrus led the Owen Sound to a 9-1 win over the Erie Otters Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

The Attack struck first as they scored three goals during the first period to take a 3-0 lead into the locker room after 20 minutes of play. Gavrus, Chris Bigras and Gemel Smith each scored for Owen Sound in the first period.

Steven Janes increased the Attack lead to four with his 18th goal of the season four minutes and five seconds into the second period.

Luke Cairns put the Otters on the board nine minutes and two seconds into the second with his 12th goal of the season, a blast from the slot that beat the glove of Jordan Binnington. Zach Nastasiuk matched the goal 30 seconds later to make it 5-1, Attack.

Owen Sound added four more goals in the third period, which included two tallies by Gavrus to complete the hat trick.
