Erie Otters News Release
Kitchener, ON - A shorthanded Erie Otters squad dropped their ninth game in a row as the Kitchener Rangers won at Memorial Auditorium, 7-3, Friday night.
Greg McKegg ended an five-game pointless streak as he put the Otters on the board midway through the first period. The captain put in a wraparound for his eighth goal of the season.
Radek Faksa tied the game in the final minute of the first, and the Rangers added a pair early in the third to take a 3-1 lead. Mac McDonnell then put the Otters within a goal with his third of the season with just over five minutes to go in the second.
The goal would be quickly matched by Curtis Meighan, and the Rangers led by a pair going into the third period.
Connor Brown scored his seventh goal of the season and a blistering wrist shot from the top of the left circle to put the Otters back in the game early in the third, but the Rangers scored three unanswered to pull away and take a 7-3 win.
The Otters return home to play the London Knights Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. Fans can buy tickets by calling 814-452-4857 or online at ottershockey.com.
