Erie, PA - The Erie Otters earned a point for the first time since November 4 but they lost in the shootout to the Barrie Colts, 4-3, Friday night at Tullio Arena.
The Otters built up a two-goal lead in the first. Rookie sensation Stephen Harper fired a wrist shot from the right circle past Clint Windsor for his team-leading 10th goal of the season eight minutes and 19 seconds into the game.
Greg McKegg scored on the power play with just over five minutes left in the first as his shot from the slot eluded Windsor for McKegg's ninth goal of the season.
The Colts took control of the second period, as they scored three unanswered to take a 3-2 lead. The lead did not last for long, as Chris Marchese ended a 16-game goalless streak with a blast from the right circle over the right shoulder of Windsor for his fifth goal of the season with 51 seconds left in the second.
