Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack are set to clash with the Erie Otters on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre for Bayshore Broadcasting night.
Owen Sound, fresh off of a 2-1 over the Flint Firebirds on Saturday night, has a chance to send the Otters on a three game losing streak when the puck drops at 7:00pm.
After starting the season with nine straight victories, Erie has stumbled as of late; dropping their last two games to Saginaw and Kingston respectively.
The Attack come in to Wednesday's tilt having started the season with a 7-4-1-1 record, good for 16 points and 4th in the Midwest Division. Erie is 9-1-1-0 on the year and three points up on Owen Sound, and in 2nd place in the Midwest.
As usual though, the Midwest is the strongest division in the Ontario Hockey League, with the Attack holding down the 9th overall ranking in the league despite sitting in 6th place in the Western Conference. Owen Sound and the Otters squared off six times last year, with Owen Sound winning two of the contests between the squads.
Attack defenceman, Santino Centorame, leads the home side into Wednesday's contest with four goals and nine assists on the year, good for 13 points and 2nd in the OHL's defensive scoring race. Jaden Lindo is Owen Sound's top goal scorer on the season with five goals in 13 games played.
The Otters are powered by the 2014-15 Ontario Hockey League Rookie of the Year, Alex DeBrincat. DeBrincat has recorded 20 points in 10 games played for the Otters this year, while the 3rd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Dylan Strome has 11 points in seven games for Erie this year.
Wednesday's game will also be a reunion of sorts for Attack netminder Daniel Dekoning.
Acquired from the Otters just prior to the season, Dekoning appeared in 29 games for Erie last year during the regular season, while seeing action in two of the Otters' post season contests.
Tickets for Wednesday night's contest can be purchased at the DJ's Furniture Attack Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com, or by calling 519-371-7452. A reminder to Early Bird Season Ticket Holders that Wednesday night is the first raincheck night of the year. Tickets must be rainchecked by Tuesday at 5:00pm.
The Weekend Preview is brought to you by Joe Tomato's, located next to the Galaxy Cinema on the Sunset Strip. Bring your Attack tickets to Joe Tomato's following every home game for half off wings and appetizers.
