Ottawa 67's News Release

The Ottawa 67's are inviting all of their fans to arrive a little early on Friday night to take in some of the best classical musical talent between the ages of 4-19 that the Ottawa Youth Orchestra has to offer.

The Ottawa Youth Orchestra will be playing a one-hour concert in Salon A of the Civic Centre beginning at 6:00 p.m. that is free to anyone who has a ticket to the Ottawa 67's game against the Peterborough Petes at 7:30 p.m.

The Ottawa Youth Orchestra Academy was founded in 1982, and run under music directorship of John Gomez by parent-volunteers. In the Ottawa region, it is unique in providing youth with the highest quality training in ensemble/ orchestral playing. Its 320 musicians ages 4-19 are organized in over 10 ensembles and two full-size symphonic orchestras – the flagship being the Ottawa Youth Orchestra.

Fans that are unable to attend the free concert will still be able to hear the orchestra as they will also be performing the National Anthem prior to the game and will have a smaller performance on the concourse at Gate 2 during the intermissions.
