
Ottawa 67\'s Acquire Nick Van Herpt

The Ottawa 67's have acquired left defenceman Nick Van Herpt from the Mississauga IceDogs in exchange for a 5th round pick in 2007. The 19 year old defenceman split last season with the IceDogs and the Kingston Frontenacs where he spent the first two seasons of his Ontario Hockey League career.
Van Herpt tallied 5 goals and 8 assists along with 62 penalty minutes in 54 games last season which was split between Kingston and Mississauga. "We are happy to have an experienced defenceman like Nick join our team" Brian Kilrea said while enroute to Sudbury for the 67's Regular Season opener Friday night.
Van Herpt is expected to join the team on the road this weekend.
