Northern Colorado Owlz News Release
MISSOULA- The Orem Owlz have a had a ton of success this season. Winning the first half division, having success on the mound and hitting the ball in every direction on the field. One thing they haven't done all year was losing more than three games in a row. On Wednesday, the Missoula Osprey made that happen in their 5-0 shutout win over the Owlz.
The night started off with a bang for the Osprey as for the third straight game they saw a home run ball leave the park as Luke Lowery swung on a fastball in the strikeout to put the Osprey one top 2-0. In fourth inning Lowery came up and this time smoked a shot right-centerfield for a triple, then crossed the plate on a ground hit force out by his teammate to put the Owlz in a bigger hole trailing 4-0.
As Osprey kept on hitting the ball well in the fifth inning they saw their final run cross the plate, but it came off a homerun by Francis Christy who sent the sixth home run over wall in the series.
As for Orem they fell for the fourth time in four games and fell for the third straight time to the home team in Missoula. The Owlz combined for six hits as a team, their four pitchers on the mound struck out 10 Osprey batters, but it wasn't enough on a rough night all around.
Tomorrow night the Owlz will look to end the losing streak in their final game of the seven game Montana road trip.
