
Osprey Score Early En Route to Home Win

MISSOULA, Mont. - Missoula reeled away five hits and four runs in the third inning and hung on for a 5-3 win over Helena in front of 2,292 fans at Ogren Park Allegiance Field.
Missoula (14-14, 31-35) had four doubles in the inning, including three in a row from Stewart Ijames, Tyler Baker, and Taylor Ard to jump out to a 5-1 lead. Sergio Alcantara also ran for two bags while Trevor Mitsui had an RBI single in the inning.
Helena (9-18, 22-43) would slowly chip away at the lead with an Alan Sharkey fourth inning solo shot and a Natanael Mejia RBI single in the eighth inning off Cody Clark. Brody Greer came on in relief and walked Sharkey to lead the bases but ended the threat with a strikeout of Tucker Neuhaus for his tenth save.
Missoula starter Yefrey Ramirez (2-1) pitched to the win with two earned runs off five hits in five innings. Ramirez rung up three Brewers without issuing a walk. In addition to Clark and Greer in relief, Derek Cape and Will Landsheft had consecutive scoreless innings.
Luis Ortega (3-7) took the loss with four earned runs, nine hits, and five strikeouts in four innings. The O's would have one more hit in the game off reliever Kaleb Earls, who made his Pioneer League debut.
