GREAT FALLS, Mont. (August 26, 2014) - The Great Falls Voyagers scored three runs in the sixth, and rode that frame to a 4-1 victory over the Billings Mustangs Tuesday night at Centene Stadium.

With the game having been tied at one apiece since the first, Great Falls (12-15, 35-30) took the lead for good in the sixth, tagging Mustang reliever Seth Varner (4-3) for three. After the initial tally of the inning scored on an error, Louie Lechich doubled the Voyager advantage with a run-producing triple. John Ziznewski then followed with a single, bringing Lechich home.

Grant Monroe (1-1) tossed a scoreless sixth, then came back out with the lead and responded by retiring Billings (17-11, 34-32) in order in the seventh.

In the eighth, it was Matt Cooper who took over, striking out three Mustangs in order at one point as he delivered two scoreless frames to collect his first career save.

The Mustangs wasted little time in scoring the contest's first run, plating one just three batters in. After Ty Washington led the game off with a single, Aristides Aquino tripled to deep right-center to collect his league-leading 57th RBI of the year.

The lead did not last long as Great Falls evened things up in the home half. A double and two walks loaded the bases for the Voyagers, bringing up Lechich. The right fielder hit into a fielder's choice, picking up his first of two RBIs on the night.

Great Falls starter Brian Clark pitched well in a no decision, scattering three hits after giving up the first inning run, and striking out five Mustangs in five innings.

The Voyagers and Mustangs wrap-up this quick two-game series Wednesday night at Centene Stadium. Great Falls will send right-hander Kelvis Valerio (1st start) to the hill, while Billings will counter with fellow righty Tyler Mahle (4-4, 4.43). First pitch is set for 7:00 and coverage will begin at 6:45 on 1400 AM KXGF and gfvoyagers.com.
