Zac Almond homered twice and drove home three runs as the Missoula Osprey beat the Grand Junction Rockies 12-4 Wednesday night at Ogren Park Allegiance Field.

Almond hit two of Missoula's four long balls on the night, and he now has 12 this season. He added a single and a single to his line in what his second straight 3-hit game in this series.

His first inning 2-run homer in the first inning gave the Osprey a 2-0 and they added an unearned run in the inning to go up three. Daniel Montano's RBI single in the second got the Rockies on the board, but Almond hit his 12th home run of the season in the fifth to make it 4-1.

The Rockies got the lead back down to two when Will Golsan started the sixth inning with a double and Coco Montes brought him home with a sacrifice fly, but Blaze Alexander's 2-run homer made it 6-2.

Reese Berberet answered with a 2-run homer of his own in the seventh, his 11th of the season, but Zack Shannon regained the league lead with a solo shot in the bottom of the inning to make it 7-4, and the Osprey blew the game open with five runs in the eighth.

Eris Filpo took the loss after allowing four runs, three earned over five innings. It's the fifth straight start that he's gone at least five innings, but he falls to 5-4. Erin Baldwin earned his third win for Missoula after surrendering just one run on one hit in five innings.

The Rockies were held to just four hits as they fall to 15-10 in the second half, 35-28 overall. Montano had half of them.

Almond and Shannon finished with three hits, three runs, and three RBI for the Osprey, while Alexander, Alek Thomas, and Kristian Robinson added two hits.

The Rockies will for the split of the four game series in Missoula in the finale Thursday night. The first pitch from Ogren Park Allegiance Field is set for 7:15.
