
OSM concert program announced

Montreal, May 31, 2006 - The Orchestre symphonique de Montréal announced today its lineup for a special open-air concert on June 17 at 7 p.m. at Percival Molson Stadium. Presented by BMO Bank of Montreal in collaboration with Le Journal de Montréal, 100 percent of all funds raised through ticket sales will be donated to the Success for Youth Foundation and Garde- Manger Pour Tous, organizations that both aim to keep kids in school.
Under the guidance of new director Jean-François Rivest, the OSM will present a varied selection designed to please all lovers of music, movie themes, and other symphonies. Among the pieces to be heard at Percival Molson Stadium will be a medley of Star Wars by John Williams, L'Apprenti sorcier by Paul Dukas from Disney's Fantasia, L'Oiseau de feu by Igor Stravinski, and The Planets ("Mars") by Gustav Holst, the latter two songs being part of the successful OSM cd. The collaboration of BMO Bank of Montreal and Le Journal de Montréal are very important for the event.
