Toronto - The 2006 football season is here and the Toronto Argonauts are preparing for some pre-season action against their rivals from down the road, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, on Friday. Kick off is set for 7:00 p.m. when fans can see the boys in blue take the field at Rogers Centre. Suited up will be CFL 2005 Most Outstanding Player Damon Allen, 2005 CFL All-Stars Jonathan Brown, Kevin Eiben, Michael Fletcher, and Jordan Younger, and the newest Toronto Argo Ricky Williams.
The fun will begin well before the doors open as the pre-game Steelback Streetfest starts at 3:00 p.m. on Bremner St. on the south side of Rogers Centre. The party will feature fun for the whole family including current Argos, Argo alumni, legendary coach Leo Cahill and the Blue Thunder Cheerleaders, as well as a beer garden, food from Lick's and Popeye's, interactive activities and musical performances.
All Argo games can be heard on AM 640 Toronto Radio, Home of the Argos, as play-by-play man Jaime Stein and colour commentator Peter Martin hit the airwaves at 6:30 p.m. AM 640's morning show host John Oakley will be handling coin toss at the game.
Following the game, the Argonauts will See You On The Field as fans can come down on the field post-game to meet their favourite Argo players, cheerleaders and Jason the mascot. As well, the official Steelback Post Game Party will be hosted on the main floor at Forget About It, 325 King Street West, immediately following the game.
