OSHAWA,ON - The Oshawa Generals, Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), and Special Olympics Ontario are teaming up to raise awareness about the importance of individuals with an intellectual disability during an upcoming Gens home game this Thursday.
The game on Thursday, November 28th vs. the Mississauga Steelheads at the Tribute Communities Centre will feature:
A LETR/Special Olympics Ontario run kiosk so fans can learn more about Special Olympics Ontario
Public address announcements about Special Olympics Ontario
Details of what is going on at the game
The awareness campaign is part of the ongoing commitment by the Ontario Hockey League, the Oshawa Generals, and LETR/Special Olympics Ontario to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Ontario. From November 1, 2019 to November 30, 2019 an online 50/50 is taking place. Presenting sponsor, OHL with all funds directed to Special Olympics Ontario. Winning ticket will be drawn at the OHL office on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
"Our team is is very involved with our community and the surrounding area. This partnership provides a fantastic opportunity to give back to the Special Olympians in the Durham Region. To support an initiative like this, it is something we are proud to be a part of" said Vice President and General Manager, Roger Hunt.
