Osceola Magic Sweep Windy City Bulls on the Road
February 9, 2024 - NBA G League (G League)
Osceola Magic News Release
The Osceola Magic swept the Windy City Bulls 110-101 in Friday night's matchup at Now Arena.
Mac McClung led the way, posting a game-high 27 points and nine assists for the Magic.
"Runs are part of the game; mature teams demonstrate that they excel in the fourth quarter," McClung said. "It's a big deal to secure these wins; everyone has a well-deserved break coming up. I'm glad we could end on a positive note; we would feel sick if, after all this time off, we ended this trip with a loss."
Trevelin Queen also added 23 points, six assists and five steals in the victory.
"We stuck to a positive mindset," Queen said. "It's great to secure these wins going into the All-Star break. We have to continue putting in the work over the break so that we can maintain our momentum; that's what will help us make a deep run into the playoffs."
The Magic set the tone early in the game with a strong 11-2 start. The Bulls fought back as the half progressed, and the Magic found themselves trailing 54-53 headed into halftime.
"You have to stick to the game plan, stay true to your personnel, and believe in what you do," Queen said. "We fell into a little slump, but we kept talking to each other and lifting each other up."
The second half proved to be a test of Osceola's resilience, finally reclaiming the lead in the fourth quarter. D.J. Wilson's mid-range shot at the 5:46 mark of the final quarter gave Osceola their first lead since the second quarter.
In a valiant defensive effort, the Magic held Windy City to an abysmal 5-22 shooting from the field in the fourth quarter. McClung's offensive outburst, contributing 13 points while shooting 50%, helped the squad secure their third consecutive victory.
The Osceola Magic (10-7), NBA G League Affiliate of the Orlando Magic, will face G League Ignite in Henderson, Nevada, at the Dollar Loan Center Friday, February 23 at 10 p.m. The game will stream on Tubi.
