Orlando City SC News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City SC (6-4-3, 21 points) returns home this weekend, set to host FC Dallas (6-3-4, 22 points) on Saturday, May 28 at Exploria Stadium. The match is set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised locally on FOX35 PLUS and LionNation TV.
In addition to being televised on FOX35 PLUS and LionNation TV, local radio coverage of the match is available on Real Radio 104.1 in English and Acción 97.9 in Spanish.
"Our job is to give the group a good recovery, get those legs ready for Dallas and have the spirit that they had today," Head Coach Oscar Pareja said. "We'll let the difficulties come [with the short turnaround] and aim to solve it, but we'll be ready for Dallas on Saturday."
City and Dallas have split their last three meetings, with the Lions taking a 2-0 victory at Exploria Stadium in 2019 to avenge the same scoreline at Toyota Stadium the year prior. The last matchup between the two sides resulted in a scoreless stalemate at Toyota Stadium on Sept. 27, 2020.
The Lions enter the match following a penalty shootout victory at Exploria Stadium on Wednesday night in the Round of 16 of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup over intrastate foes Inter Miami CF. After regulation and extra time resulted in a 1-1 draw, the Lions prevailed by converting each of their four attempts from the spot, with goalkeeper Mason Stajduhar recording a save to help punch the side's ticket to the Quarterfinals.
Ercan Kara leads City with four goals in all competitions for the Lions this campaign, while Mauricio Pereyra holds the team-high in assists with six. Goalkeeper Pedro Gallese sits tied for second in the league with six clean sheets this campaign.
FC Dallas comes into the weekend after falling at Toyota Stadium to Minnesota United this past Sunday. Paul Arriola scored the lone goal for the Toros, but the home side's rally came up just short, sending the Loons home with all three points.
Jesús Ferreira leads the league with nine goals scored this season. Jáder Obrian holds the team high in assists for Dallas with four in 2022.
Following the international break, the Lions return to play by taking on the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday, June 15. Kickoff for that match is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
