
Columbus Crew Signs Jacen Russell-Rowe on a Short-Term Loan Agreement from Columbus Crew 2

COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew today announced that it has added Columbus Crew 2 forward Jacen Russell-Rowe (pronounced: JAY-sen, like Jason) to the First Team on a short-term loan agreement. Russell-Rowe is available for selection for the Crew's match against Atlanta United at Mercedes-Benz Stadium tonight, Saturday, May 28 [7:00 p.m. ET / Bally Sports Ohio, Bally Sports App (Stream) / 97.1 The Fan, 971TheFan.com (English); ColumbusCrew.com (Spanish)].
Per MLS rules, the short-term agreement allows clubs to sign players on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for MLS, U.S. Open Cup, CONCACAF Champions League, Canadian Championship and exhibition matches.
The 19-year-old forward joined Crew 2 on March 18 ahead of the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season. To date, Russell-Rowe has made eight regular-season appearances (six starts), scoring in each of his last six matches and providing one assist. The forward is currently tied for most goals in MLS NEXT Pro regular-season action with Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez of the Tacoma Defiance.
Prior to joining Crew 2, Russell-Rowe played for the University of Maryland from 2020-2021, making 26 appearances, scoring four goals and tallying five assists. The Canadian forward also made one appearance for Toronto FC II of USL League One during the 2019 season. At the international level, Russell-Rowe has represented the Canada Under-17 Men's National Team, including playing at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil, where he scored two goals in three appearances.
