Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League are set to begin their 14th season of play tomorrow night at 7:05 pm at the CenturyTel Center! The Mudbugs have also released their official season opening roster as they prepare to face-off against longtime rival Mississippi in the season opener, which is presented by Willis-Knighton Sports Medicine.
You won't want to miss our spectacular opening night entertainment as we start the season off with a bang before the puck drops between the Mudbugs and RiverKings with a special laser light show. The first 5,000 fans through the doors will get a free Mudbugs 2010-11 magnet schedule from Johnny's Pizza House, so arrive early and get into your seats in time for a special opening night presentation.
We'll be welcoming and recognizing a number of local former Mudbugs players during the first intermission, and the kids who participated in this year's Mudbugs "Ice is In" youth hockey clinic will be playing kid's games during intermission as well.
The Mudbugs have also announced the 21 players on their season opening roster for 2010-11. The roster includes 19 players who are active for opening night, of which 18 will be allowed to dress in the game. Two more players will be inactive for the start of the season, as fourth-year Mudbugs goaltender John DeCaro begins the year on injured reserve and third-year defenseman Simon Mangos is away on a leave of absence.

Bossier-Shreveport currently has 12 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders in the dressing room, with six veterans (over 300 pro games), three developmental players (under 129 games) and three rookies among them. Forwards Marcel Bruinsma, Brett Parker and Patrick Sweeney were released from the team's training camp this week.
