
Killer Bees Set Opening Day Roster

Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
HIDALGO, Texas- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League announced today that their opening day roster has been submitted to the league offices. The roster consists of 20 players, 18 of which are currently active. To bring the roster to size the Bees made a series of moves today.
The Bees first inked forward Aaron Lewicki to a contract. Lewicki, who played college hockey at Ferris State, was recently in Houston Aeros (AHL) camp. The Bees place two players on waivers this morning, defensemen Josh Bemis and goalie Brad Phillips. The Bees also placed two players on 10-day injured reserve, Lewicki and Brandon Smith.
"I think we've put together an excellent roster that will be able to strongly compete in the CHL this season. There is talent in all three areas of the game, offense, defense, and goaltending. I am excited for the season to get underway and see these players gel." said head coach Chris Brooks.

The Bees open their season on Friday playing host to the Laredo Bucks. The Bees and Bucks will be playing for the first-ever Mayor's Cricket Cup. The team with the best head to head record against the other will capture the crown.
