Opening Night for RoughRiders on Thursday Packed with Excitement

FRISCO, TEXAS - The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, host their home Opening Night this Thursday, April 14 at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The night includes the popular Thirsty Thursday promotion with $1 and $2 beer specials, Post-Game Fireworks, pregame festivities, highlighted by an awe-inspiring jump by the Patriot Parachute Team, and unique entertainment throughout the game.

Opening Night includes a performance from Bucket Ruckus, a dynamically entertaining duo of "baseball rock stars" who play drumming performances on buckets of all shapes and sizes. It's also a Thirsty Thursday, with $1 drafts and $2 craft beers served from 6:00-8:00 p.m. as well as $1 Dr Pepper products available all game long.

Prior to the game, the Patriot Parachute Team, a group of Former Navy Seals, will deliver the game ball and throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Also included in the pre-game festivities is a ceremonial first pitch from Miss Frisco Christina Clawson and a National Anthem performance from Frisco's Independence High School.

During the game, kids can enjoy the Primrose Schools Playground and RoughRiders Playground as well as free airbrush art for fans of all ages from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

After the game, fans can take in the first of 20 spectacular fireworks shows this season.

On Opening Night, the gates will open early to the public, beginning at 5:30 p.m., 30 minutes earlier than usual. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats early as not to miss any Opening Night festivities, which will include the reveal of two new ballpark characters! Founder's Members can enter beginning at 5:00 p.m. The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a 2016 RoughRiders magnet schedule.

After Thursday, the homestand continues through Tuesday with five more nights packed with fun, including Post-Game Fireworks on Friday.

Other highlights on the opening homestand include, Post-Game Fireworks on Friday night, Riders 2016 Made in Frisco Tour Style T-Shirt Giveaway on Saturday, a schedule poster giveaway on Kids Sunday Funday with a pre-game catch on the field, Big Money Monday, and Taco Tuesday to close out the six-game homestand.
