DUBUQUE, IA- Following a historic 2012-2013 season, the Dubuque Fighting Saints are ready to begin their quest to defend the Clark and Anderson Cups. The Fighting Saints open the season tonight in Waterloo, and then the team comes home for a grand celebration. Dubuque's Opening Night and Championship Celebration presented by American Trust is Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. as the Sioux City Musketeers come to town. The Fighting Saints will skate on home ice for the first time this regular season and unveil both the Anderson Cup and Clark Cup championship banners at the Mystique Community Ice Center.

Fans are encouraged to arrive to the arena a few minutes earlier than normal, as the banner unveiling will take place prior to puck drop. The pregame festivities will also include a ring ceremony where returning players and staff will be presented their Clark Cup championship rings. The Fighting Saints will welcome back former Head Coach and General Manager Jim Montgomery, now Head Coach at the University of Denver, who will be in attendance. Highlights from the historic 2012-2013 season will be played as the Fighting Saints honor a season where they went a franchise best 45-11-8.

The first 3,000 fans also receive a magnetic schedule courtesy of American Trust.

Saturday is a College Night and area students can score a great deal. With a valid college ID, students can receive a ticket in the End section as well as $5 in Saints Bucks (good for concessions or merchandise) for only $10.

Saturday's game will also include the addition of several new in arena features for the Fighting Saints that fans will enjoy. New for this year, the Fighting Saints and Northern Lights Hockey Foundation will have a nightly 50/50 raffle at all home games. Tickets will be sold throughout the game, and the winner will be announced prior to the conclusion of the game. The winner takes home half the pot, and the others will be donated to area non-profit organizations that align with the Northern Lights Hockey Foundations mission to promote amateur hockey in the Tri-State area with a particular emphasis on physical education, character development, and education.

Additionally, the Fighting Saints have made additions to the Kids Zone to continue to provide new and exciting experiences for fans of all ages. A new inflatable skee-ball game has been added, and the arena will also feature an inflatable bags game as well. The Hall of Champions has also been upgraded with several new pieces celebrating Dubuque's hockey history.
