Open Your Heart at Wizards Games

BISMARCK, ND, December 16, 2008 - The two-time defending NBA Development League Central Division Champion Dakota Wizards announced that they have teamed up with the "Open Your Heart Campaign" to help provide additional non-perishable food items that will be distributed to area needy families.
In conjunction with the NBA D-League Cares Season of Cheering, fans who donate any non perishable food items over the next few weeks will receive a buy one get one free ticket voucher redeemable to to the Wizards home games on December 20th and 21st.
"Open Your Heart Campaign, like other programs in the area, is a great cause," said Wizards GM Tom Wagganer. "We are excited to be a part of such a great program and look forward to helping as much as we can."
Wizards fans can drop of their non-perishable food items at the Wizards office (919 S. 7th St. Suite 501) between 9:00 AM CT and 5:00 AM CT or at the Bismarck Civic Center (315 S. 5th St.) between 1:00 pm CT and 5:00 PM CT and receive their buy one get one free offer. Fans can also bring their donation on the day of the game to a table located in the front ticket lobby of the Civic Center.
"NBA D-League players, coaches and staff have always been committed to being active members of their communities," said Dan Reed, President NBA D-League. "The Open Your Heart Campaign is a great way to provide help to those who need it during the season and underscore our long-standing tradition of providing more than just world-class entertainment on the court by continuing to support our communities off the court as well."
Wizards players and staff will join a number of other local volunteers on December 22nd to help box up the donated items and on December 23rd the Wizards will help deliver boxed up food families who are in need during the holidays.
