RENO BIGHORNS ACQUIRE PATRICK EWING JR.

The Reno Bighorns announced the acquisition of Patrick Ewing Jr., who made his debut last night against the Utah Flash, finishing with 15 points, five assists and two blocks. The 43rd overall selection by the Sacramento Kings in the 2008 NBA Draft, Ewing Jr. was traded to the Houston Rockets before playing with the New York Knicks during the 2008 preseason.

COLORADO 14ERS JAMES MAYS NAMED NBA D-LEAGUE PERFORMER OF THE WEEK

James Mays of the Colorado 14ers was named the NBA D-League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Dec. 8, 2008. He is the first rookie to earn Performer of the Week honors this season. Mays led Colorado to a 2-1 record this week while averaging 25.7 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Mays' week was highlighted by a 37-point performance in a win over Rio Grande Valley. The 6-9 Mays was Colorado's first-round pick (second overall) in the 2008 NBA D-League Draft after playing in training camp with the Denver Nuggets. After five games he is ranked second in the NBA D-League with 24.2 points per game. He has led the 14ers to a 5-1 start securing Colorado the top spot in the Southwest Division.

MONDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Monday's games

Gavin Grant recorded a game-high 28 points in his first professional start to help the Utah Flash. Dontell Jefferson celebrated his 25th birthday with 21 points for the Flash, while Celtics' assignee Bill Walker finished with 18 points and eight rebounds. Andre Ingram and Carlos Wheeler each added 12 points off the Flash bench. Brian Jackson rounded out double-figure scorers with 10.

Reno was led by Dave Noel, who finished with 27 points. Antonio Meeking added 19 points, while Jesse Smith recorded a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Renaldo Major had a strong all-around game for Dakota with 22 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals. Maurice Baker chipped in with 19 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Ronald Dupree led Tulsa with 17 points.

ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS...a look at D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games

23 players with D-League experience competed in nine NBA games last night, 10 as starters. Here are the highlights:

Andray Blatche tallied 19 points in 33 minutes, as a starter for the Washington Wizards.

Starting for Orlando, Marcin Gortat recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds as the Magic defeated the Warriors 109-98.

Jose Juan Barea finished with 12 points and nine assists in 34 minutes as a starter for the Dallas Mavericks.

Both Kelenna Azubuike and CJ Watson started for the Golden State Warriors. Azubuike grabbed 10 rebounds and finished with six points. Watson chipped in seven.
