Ontario Reign Game Preview: Reign and Rampage Collide Deep in the Heart of Texas

Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), take on the San Antonio Rampage tonight at 5:30 PT at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. Tonight is the third of six meetings between the two teams this season.

On the Road Again:

The Ontario Reign are 4-2-0-0 on the road this season and are in the middle of a three-game road trip (0-1-0-0).

The Last Time We Met:

The Reign suffered back-to-back overtime losses to the Rampage on Friday, October 30 (3-2) and Saturday, October 31 (2-1) at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario. Rampage forward Ben Street provided the extra-time heroics in both contests. Reign forward Adrian Kempe leads the team with two assists against the Rampage.

Top of the Mountain:

For the seventh straight game, the Reign hold the top penalty-killing unit in the American Hockey League at 94.5 percent (three goals against on 55 chances) and have allowed one power-play goal in the last six games (one goal against on 25 chances).

Top Teams Collide:

The Reign have the best overall defense in the American Hockey League, averaging 1.58 goals-against per game while the Rampage are fifth in league offense, scoring 3.50 goals per game on average. The Rampage (1st) and Reign (2nd) sit on top of the Pacific Division.

Scouting the Rampage:

San Antonio is riding a three-game winning streak heading into tonight's contest after snatching victories over the Texas Stars and Stockton Heat and are unbeaten in six home games this season (4-0-2-0). Forward Andrew Agozzino leads the team with 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in nine games including a goal and an assist against the Reign. Since facing the Reign in late October, forward Ben Street and star goaltender Calvin Pickard have been recalled to the Colorado Avalanche (NHL).
