Falcons Doomed by Third Period, Fall 4-0

Albany, NY - The Falcons surrendered three third period goals to lose to the Albany Devils by a 4-0 score on Friday night.
The Devils struck first with a power play goal from Paul Thompson for his third of the season.
Thompson shot the puck from the corner off goaltender Louis Domingue 's skate and into the net. The goal was scored at 14:09 and assisted by Seth Helgeson and Joseph Blandisi. The Falcons outshot Albany 10-4 in the period but remained scoreless due to goaltender Yann Danis.
The scoreless second period featured five-on-five for the duration of the frame with Domingue stopping all 11 shots while Danis made 16 saves in the frame.
Matt Lorito began the torrid third period with a goal from the slot to give Albany a 2-0 lead. The goal was scored 5:41 into the period with an assist from Vojtech Mozik. Blandisi would give Albany a 3-0 lead halfway through the period with assists from Lorito and Helgeson. To conclude the scoring, Mike Sislo fired a one-timer on the power play to give Albany a 4-0 win.
Danis collected his second shutout of the season with 30 saves. Domingue had his five-game win streak halted with 24 saves in the loss.
The Falcons host the Providence Bruins tomorrow at 7 p.m. for Youth Football Night. Pat Patriot and the Patriots Cheerleaders will be in attendance for photographs and autograph opportunities for all fans. The weekend concludes with a 5 p.m. contest in Bridgeport against the Sound Tigers. All games can be heard live on NewsRadio560 WHYN.
