Ontario Clippers Open Regular Season With A Victory Over The Stars

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The Ontario Clippers, the official NBA G League affiliate of the LA Clippers opened the regular season with a 121-111 win over the Salt Lake City Stars (Utah Jazz's G League affiliate) tonight.

The Ontario Clippers, led by two-way Jordan Miller defeated the Salt Lake City Stars in their first game of the 2023-24 regular season. Miller grabbed the Clippers an early lead with 11 points on five-of-seven shooting in the opening frame. The Clippers kept their momentum into the second quarter outscoring the Stars by 18 going into halftime. Xavier Moon ended the half with 19 points, two rebounds and three assists, while Jordan Miller added 15 points and 7 rebounds.

The Clippers maintained their lead throughout the second half behind Jordan Miller, Xavier Moon and Josh Primo. In the third quarter, Miller scored 11 points and Primo scored 10 to keep the Clippers advantage going into the final frame. The three combined for 88 points to close out the game with a 121-11 victory over the Stars.

Ontario shot 50.5% from the field and was +20 in rebounding throughout the contest. Jordan Miller recorded a career-high 34 points on 13-of-20 shooting from the field and added 13 rebounds to go with. Xavier Moon ended with 24 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Josh Primo recorded 24 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field.

Despite their loss, the Stars still put on a strong performance, led by Josh Christopher, who ended with 26 points, six rebounds and five assists. Johnny Juzang also made an impact with 20 points, four rebounds and seven assists. Although they were unable to secure a victory, five Stars total scored in double figures.

Next Up

The Ontario Clippers will host the Austin Spurs for a two-game series starting on Tuesday, January 2. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00PM PT on ESPN+.
