Raptors 905 News Release
Raptors 905 (1-1), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, fell to the Capital City Go-Go (1-1) 109-143 Thursday evening. The 905 were led by Kobi Simmons who contributed a season-high 26 points, along with four assists and two rebounds. Capital City's Jared Butler put up 24 points, five rebounds, 13 assists, and three steals in the victory.
The two teams opened the ball game trading baskets before Capital City gained a 13-point lead as the first quarter came to an end. Raptors 905 fought back in the second, however, hot shooting from the Go-Go allowed them to increase their lead to 16 points going into the break.
Raptors 905 opened the second half strong behind seven straight points from Simmons in the opening two minutes. The home team showed no signs of slowing down in the second half as they outscored the 905 42-30 in the third quarter. The Go-Go continued their hot shooting through the fourth quarter, putting up a season-high 143 points, earning their first victory of the regular season.
The 905 saw complementary scoring from Mouhamadou Gueye who added 15 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three blocks. The Go-Go were paced by Eugene Omoruyi who added 25 points, six rebounds, and three assists to the stat sheet. Raptors 905 return to Mississauga to host the Wisconsin Herd for their last game of 2023, Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Capital City will host Motor City Saturday, tip-off scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
