College Park Skyhawks News Release
(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the Charlotte Hornets NBA G League affiliate, soared to its first win (113-101) in the regular season opener against the College Park Skyhawks (Atlanta Hawks affiliate) on Wednesday evening at the Novant Health Fieldhouse.
The Swarm were ignited by Jeremiah Tilmon and Amari Bailey in the victory. Tilmon set the tone with a dynamic dunk to open the first half and recorded his first double-double of the season with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Meanwhile Bailey secured a team high 29 points, nine rebounds, and four assists to secure the victory.
College Park (0-1) turned to guard Kobe Bufkin throughout the entirety of the contest for offensive assistance. Bufkin recorded a game high 34 points and was over 50 percent shooting from the field. However, in the first half, the Skyhawks' Miles Norris and Brandon Randolph combined for 27 points to give their team a nine point advantage (54-45) at the halftime break.
Both teams traded baskets throughout the third period before the Swarm responded with a needed offensive boost and drew even (78-78) headed into the final frame. The Swarm sustained its second half momentum in the fourth quarter and led for the majority of the period. In addition to Bailey and Tilmon, four Swarm players finished the contest in double figures, Terrell Brown Jr. (15 points), Jaylen Sims (15 points), Jaire Grayer (14 points) and Angelo Allegri (10 points).
The Swarm will host the Windy City Bulls on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in their second game of the regular season at the Novant Health Fieldhouse.
