Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
Papillion, Neb. - Minor League Baseball announced its list of the 25 top-selling clubs and a new name made its way onto the list as the Omaha Storm Chasers were named as one of MILB's top-selling teams in regards to merchandise sales. 2011 marks the first time out of 19 years that the Minors have put together the top-25 that the Omaha franchise has appeared in the upper echelon of merchandise sales.
"We are thrilled with the response the Omaha metro area and our fans have had in regard to the name and image change," said President and General Manager of the Storm Chasers, Martie Cordaro. "They spoke with votes in 2010 and have responded by purchasing gear to support their Triple-A championship team."
The club has come a long way, ranking as high as the mid-90's in sales as recently as 2010 to its current position as one of the top-selling teams in the Minor Leagues. The Storm Chasers brand has shown incredible growth, exhibiting a 111% increase in sales from 2010 to 2011.
"It's really a combination of many different factors," explained the Director of Merchandise, Jason Kinney. "The fans voted to give us such a fun and unique nickname and logo as well as moving to Werner Park, which is not only a fantastic place to see a baseball game but features a much more spacious gift shop for the fans to enjoy."
Werner Park has helped to put the expansive Storm Front Gift Shop at the forefront of the Storm Chasers experience as it is located in the front of the stadium, at the main entrance, next to the Werner Park Ticket Office. The gift shop at the former home of Omaha's Triple-A baseball club was neither as large nor was it in such a desirable location.
The Storm Front Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and is also open through the final out of the ninth inning on game days, as well.
For information on how to come out to Werner Park to purchase the latest Omaha Storm Chasers Merchandise or to see the Storm Chasers defend their 2011 Pacific Coast League Championship, call the Werner Park Ticket Office at (402) 738-5100 or visit omahastormchasers.com for all of the latest information.
