Omaha Beef News Release

Omaha, NE - A week after ending the longest winning streak in professional sports history, the Omaha Beef professional indoor football team will look to build their winning streak to two as they face off against the RiverCity Rage on "Mascot Night" with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.

The BEEF, who stand at 2-2, defeated the Sioux Falls Storm 34-18 last Saturday with 5,182 cowbell-ringing and horn-blowing fans proudly supporting the team. Omaha has revenge on their minds as they fell to the Rage 36-18 at The Family Arena two weeks ago.

Tommie Williams, BEEF Offense/Special Teams Coordinator, knows his team is ready for the Rage.

"I expect our team to come out with a chip on their shoulder," Williams said. "We will be physical and look to execute all facets of the game plan."

The first 1,000 kids through the turnstiles will receive special Sir Loin mascot hats. The BEEF welcome Herbie Husker, Miles from the Denver Broncos and Viktor the Viking from the Minnesota Vikings. Several local mascots representing high schools, colleges, universities and companies are also scheduled to appear. At halftime, Miles and Viktor will captain teams as the mascots will be playing a football game.

Also, this game will be the second straight where fans can purchase paper airplanes to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. At halftime, fans will be allowed to throw their airplanes into a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck. If they make their airplane into the truck's bed, they will be invited back to the BEEF's June 14th game for one final attempt to win the truck.

The Omaha Beef opened their 2008 home season versus the Bloomington Extreme on March 15, 2008. All home games will be played at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The Beef are a member of the United Indoor Football Association, the premier indoor football league in America. The Beef are committed to making a positive difference in the Omaha area through football, fun and community service. For more information about the Beef, log on to www.beeffootball.com.
