Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm will hit the road again as the team heads to Billings to take on the Outlaws. The Storm try to come back from their first loss after a 40-game win streak against a Billings team that boasts the best scoring offense in the league, averaging 57.3 points per game.
The Outlaws enter Saturday's game after a heartbreaking loss to the Sioux City Bandits in Week 4. The Outlaws fell 31-30 in Sioux City as the Bandits scored three touchdowns in the second and third quarters from quarterback Chad Kapanui to take a 28-18 lead into the fourth quarter. The last time Sioux Falls traveled to Billings the Storm won an exciting overtime game 52-49 on March 31, 2007. The Storm defeated the Outlaws four times last season by an average of 19.3 points per game.
Chris Dixon leads the Outlaw offense this year from the quarterback position. Dixon passed for 264 yards with 6 touchdown passes in a victory against Sioux City in Week 3. The Outlaws' quarterback is currently leading the league in passing yards, averaging 248.3 yards per game. Receiver Willie Austin is the team's leading receiver. He has caught seventeen passes for 255 yards and six touchdowns this season. The Outlaws two UIF All-Star receivers from last season, Robert Reed and Anthony Candler, are both questionable for this week's game because of injuries sustained against Sioux City.
Defensively, UIF All-Stars Jacquwan Brackenridge and Eugene Phillips are leading the Billings defense this season. Phillips had 5.0 tackles, a forced fumble, and 0.5 sacks in a victory against Omaha earlier this season. Brackenridge had a big game with 9.0 tackles and an interception against Sioux City last week. The leading tackler for the Outlaws is Travis Salter, who is having a huge season thus far. He is second in the league in tackles and had 11.5 tackles, five tackles for loss, and two sacks against Sioux City.
The game can be heard on KOOL FM 107.9 with pre-game action starting at 7:45 PM. The game can also be heard online by visiting www.siouxfallsstorm.com. Saturday's action can be viewed by logging onto www.b2tv.com and buying the broadcast for $7.
